Luke Humphries MBE: Newbury Darts Star Honoured by Prince William (2026)

Newbury darts sensation Luke Humphries receives an MBE from Prince William

In a landmark recognition, Luke Humphries, the renowned darts ace from Newbury, Berkshire, has been awarded the Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for his contributions to the sport. The former world No. 1 clinched the PDC World Darts Championship in 2024, cementing his status among darts’ elite. Prince William personally presented the honor at Windsor Castle, highlighting Humphries’s impact on darts and his achievements over the years.

Humphries is preparing for this year’s World Championship, which kicks off at Alexandra Palace in London on Thursday.

The 30-year-old has secured eight major titles, including a first-time victory in the Premier League of darts earlier this year. He held the world No. 1 ranking for nearly two years before losing the top spot in November to rival Luke Littler.
